I have a 1994 s-10 pick-up 4X2 w/ a 4.3 TBI fuel injection vin-z and quite often when im driving down the road, or even at idle, my truck dies. When this fit occures, if i'm at idle and try to give it gas, it does nothing for it. If i'm in motion on the road then it loses power, doesn't die till i.1- push the clutch in, 2-come to a stop. Sometimes it will start right back up and go, but sometimes it will start then die, then may repeat this as many times as the truck see's fit.

Could be any number of things. First- ya need to get computer codes read (plug for that is located under dash, below heater controls), second- if nothing comes up there. You may have a vacume leak or 2, third- you'll want to check all vacume hoses for cracks or soft (mushy) spots. Or you may have an intake leak. Be careful rubber hoses crack & break when cold, fourth- the EGR valve might be starting to go bad. Or your fuel pump is dieing, & or the fuel filter might be tryin to tell ya something. Check out the fuel system first ! Otherwise. Happy hunting.
