I have a 1994 S-10 truck, 4 cyl. 2.2. I replaced the timing belt to cure a lot of noise at idle, coming from the front of the engine. I worked for about 5k miles and started coming back. Any ideas. 262,000 miles on the truck, well maintained

Timing chain, behind the cover. By the way, when it is cold out, it doesn't start making noise until it warms up.

With the timing chain tensioner secured away from the chain, the chain should have a inch or less slack. Did the gears look ok and not worn down? Check the tensioner it could have gone bad. With the tensioner The timing chain, sprockets and tensioner should be changed in a set. The noise gets louder as the engine warms up then I would check the tensioner.
