squeaking noise when I turn the wheels sharply ..any ideas? I was stuck in the snow yesterday and 'spun my way out' several times.

Usually a squeak comes from a dry sway bar bushing. Check the bushings in the front and spray them with something like WD40 to see if the noise goes away.
