burning clutch

clutch smells like burnt when i have trouble putting it in gear

Sounds like it may be time for a new clutch disc. You may want to check the slave cylinder resevoir for fluid, and also make sure there are no leaks in the system.

This will be a failed clutch, time for a new clutch assabmly, do not forget to get the fly wheel machined and fit a new spigot bearing as well.
