what would make the car pop back through the intake after putting an intake gasket kit on it

Check plug wiring maybe one got crossd

or a vacuum leak cam do it as well, but a crossed lead it the best bet.

you also may have not got a pushrod on correctly and the exaust valve isn't opening causing the popping. or it's bent. you'll need to take the valve covers off to check.
