COULD BE A BAD SENDING UNIT.........EZ FIX

OR A BAD GAUGE

OR IT COULD BE A LOT OF MILES, A LOT OF WEAR ON THE MECHANICALS.....OIL JUST SLIPS THRU EZer, CANNOT BUILD PRESSURE

THE BEST-US TEST TO INSURE ALL IS FINE (OR NOT), IS TO USE A PORTABLE, MECHANICAL GAUGE FOR A TEMPORARY PERIOD OF TIME

"FOR ME" ANYWAY, I WANNA KNOW THE ACTUAL NUMBERS FROM TIME TO TIME (IF NOT ALL OF THE TIME), NOT JUST STICK IN A NEW SENDER AND HOPE FOR THE BEST

REMOVE THE SENDER, SCREW IT IN IT'S PLACE, RUN IT UNDER THE HOOD AND THRU YOUR WINDOW SO YOU CAN MONITOR WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON WITH THE PRESSURE

THIS MIGHT GIVE YOU SOME INSIGHT TO THE "REAL WORLD SITUATION", BEFORE YOU SPEND SOME $$$ FRUITLESSLY

I KNOW LITTLE ABOUT YOUR SPECIFIC ENGINE, IN THE PAST WITH MY JEEP CJs, I WAS ABLE TO GET A "HIGH VOLUME OIL PUMP" AND INSTALL IT. THIS BOUGHT ME A FEW MORE YEARS PRIOR TO REBUILDING THE ENGINE.

WHEN I BUILT MY PRESENT ENGINE, FOR MY 1977 CJ 5, I INSTALLED ONE DURING THE BUILD. THAT WAS BACK IN '95, AND MANY, MANY MILES AGO. I STILL HAVE 40 PSI AT IDLE, AND 60 PSI WHILE DRIVING.

I HAVE ALSO USED "LUCAS OIL STABILIZER" SUBSTITUTED FOR A QUART OF OIL DURING EVERY OIL CHANGE SINCE (THAT IS, AFTER ABOUT A GOOD 1700 MILE BREAK IN PERIOD, 1-500 MILE AND 4 REGULAR 3000 MILE CHANGES.)

I STAY ON TOP OF MY MAINTENANCE....RELIGIOUSLY---AND THE EXTRA $$$ SPENT FOR THE LUCAS HAS PAID OFF IN THE LONG RUN......THIS AND EVERY JEEP BEFORE IT, HAVE BEEN MY DAILY DRIVERS.

HERE'S A PIC OF THE GAUGE I CONSTRUCTED---YOU CAN ALSO USE AN AFTER-MARKET TYPE (THAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY MOUNT UNDER THE DASH) IT WOULD HAVE ALL OF THE GOODIES IN IT TO MAKE A TEMPORARY TEST GAUGE SIMILAR TO MINE......GET ONE YOU LIKE, YOU MIGHT EVEN WANT TO THREAD IT THRU THE FIREWALL AND MOUNT IT PERMANENTLY ON/ UNDER THE DASH.

IN MY JEEP, ALONG WITH THE FACTORY WATER TEMP GAUGE (IN THE CLUSTER) I HAVE MECHANICAL TEMP GAUGE, I REPLACED THE ELECTRIC OIL GAUGE WITH A MECHANICAL ONE, AND ADDED SEVERAL OTHER HELPFUL GAUGES WHICH I CAN MONITOR THE CONDITION OF MY JEEP CONSTANTLY

KEEP US POSTED ON WHAT YOUR FINDINGS ARE.....MAYBE IT'S JUST THE SENDER

THE MEDIC
