Code reading

Have the old OBD1 system and trying to jump over wires at connection to read code error. Online shows upper right and 2nd from right jump to read. Ours has a black w/white strip wire going to upper right. Orange goes to LOWER right and a Purple wire goes to lower spot 3rd in from right. Have jumped the lower and upper right leads as seen on site, but get nothing. Had over last couple weeks put a bunch of time and work to get this running car right again. Now seemed to be running good for two days, and all of a sudden get the engine light to appear tonight.

I believe our 94 version is A & M using the letters on this chart above. Ours does not have any wires behind the B spot as mentioned. As using the A&M combo, nothing happens or blinks?

Do you have proper jump procedure for this one?
Thanks

This can be an OBD1 car here is a guide to show you how to get the codes

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/buick-cadillac-chevy-gmc-oldsmobile-pontiac-gm-1983-1995-obd1-code-definitions-and-retrieval-method

If you have an ALDL connector you get the codes like this.

Please run down these guides and report back.

If it's a 16 pin connector you can't flash the codes out like the 12 pin one.

I get a code number 26 quad driver module failure? I know that has to do with the "brain" of the car, but I have tested it and it passes the "slap test", confused.
The second code is number 27 second gear switch or circuit problem? I have no idea what that means can you please explain it to me and how to fix it?

The codes need to be cleared after a TPS replacement. You can disconnect the battery for 30 minutes. While your waiting remove and spray the MAf Sensor out with electrical cleaner. When you reconnect the battery, start it and let it idle until the cooling fan runs once, Drive it without Heavy aceeleration and allow the transmission to downshift and follow with normal braking.

1995 Buick Century 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I took the car to have it scan and it showed up quad driver. What is a quad driver? Our mechanic doesnt seem to know. Also, the torque converter clutch slip lock came up. The problem with the car that it turns off when driving and when set to long while idling. What do you recommend I need to do?

The quad driver is the grounding transister inside the computer that is used for controlling the various relays and solenoids that the computer has control of. When you get a code for one, it usually means that one of the components that is operated by that quad driver is overloading it and you will have to figure out which one it is. If you are having a problem with the TCC solenoid, that is a good place to start testing.
