why is my car surging

Hi, my first time, i recently got a BMW 318i A, automatic gear, when i continuously accelerate it somehow jumps what could i be facing? the car is so small inside.

Bring it in and have the transmission checked by a tranny specialist

Thank you very much rasmatz. Could you kindly also advice on: i drove the car last nigtht, but mazingly i got into a pot hole but it could not climb it. I had to reverse and come with high speed in order to move forward. Am I facing a big engene problem?
