While driving the engine begins surging, but it does not stall?

Starts right up every time. Drive around the block, engine begins surging. Doesn't stall, or shut off. Still drives okay, I'm lost, can you help?

This happens when there is a vacuum leak or the EGR valve is opening when it should know, I would disconnect the EGR vacuum line to see if that fixes it and then use this guide when the engine is cold to try to find the vacuum leak:
