I have an old Corsa. When I engage the clutch and begin to accelerate a high pitch squeak kicks in, intensifies then dies away. This happens every few minutes. The noise comes and goes, but is getting louder and longer

Does the noise go away when you put pressure on the clutch pedal? If so, throwout bearing. If not, possibly a pilot bearing.
