whe re does the temp. gage usually at in order for the cooling fan to come on.can I reuse the old sensor.

On that year it would be at 3/4 to just the tip of the red depending on how good the temp sensor or temp gauge is.Most of the time the bottom temp sensor fails which turns the fan on and tells th computer what temp the car is.Also inspect the inside of the connector if the terminals are green or blue instead of silver you need a new connector.The top sensor is for the gauge.
