coolant lights on dash

just changed my coolant temp sensor, plenty of coolant in the car and the car isnt running hot but both coolant lights and check engine are now on. And when i changed the sensor the colling fan came on for the first time in ages just wondering what this could be

What sensor did you change top or bottom coolant temp sensor and how many wires were going to it?Also what other coolant light is on there is only one on that car that i can think of.So the check engine light is on?Also is the coolant bottle filled up to the seam?
