car sensor issue

wonder what the sensor located on the valve cover between the throttle body and power steering pump is. when plugged in car dosent wanna start or will turn on the bogg down and die. when i unplugged it car ran fine but cannot drive due to idle all over the place

It has three wires and a vacuum line to it and its rectangle?If so thats your map sensor?So your idle is high low?Those engines are know for a lot of vacuum leaks.Any codes besides the map sensor code you set by unplugging it?Also those engines are known for bad coolant temp sensor.
