My firebird loses power some times engine light comes on then the motor loses power /boggs out when I step on the gas it get its power back til I let off it then it loses power again

Have the computer scan for code/s, there's a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to come on. This is your starting point to finding out the problem.
