Engine Warning light is ON

I've been getting light engine on and sometimes it get off !!
and then it was in garage because the gas pedal is not working properly ,and now the engine warning light is always ON !
P.S : I'm new with driving , I have been only driving only month ago and it is a manual car , is it possibly that I am driving it in a way that I harm the engine?

There is a fault code logged in the engine management system, you will have to take the car to a mechanic and get a diagnostic scan done, this will read the code, the code will identify the problem.
