When braking the engine stalls

When we press the brake the vehichle stals the there are heavy fuel smell. The one problem is that the people bypassed the mechanical pump and put in a electric pump to supply tha original pierburg carb

The fuel pump is probably supplying too much pressure. Did they install a regulator?

The stalling issue is probably due to a vacuum leak at the brake booster. Remove the 2 nuts securing the master cylinder to the booster, start the engine and hit the brake. Listen for a hissing sound.
