1993 Nissan Pathfinder Power Light Comes On Randomly About Once Month Off Days

The power light comes on randomly about once a month and goes on and off for a few days causing the engine to rev high before shifting. Then will seem absolutely fine. Reasons this could be happening? I'm thinking the failsafe. Can I bypass the power switch? That would be to easy. suggestions..?

I would have the trouble codes pulled to see if that gives you an idea of what is going on. Any Advance Auto or Auto Zone will do this for free.
