my sump gasket is leaking, i have been told i can tension/tighten it or replace it?

Hello,
Any time you have a leaking gasket the best option is to replace it. And while installing the new one, use proper torque to tighten it.
Also, you want to use a good quality sealant while installing the new part.
I have attached the replacement procedure including the torque specifications below.
