93 mercury tracer window crank removal? How do you get it off in order to remove the door panel?

THERE IS A SPECIAL TOOL FOR THIS,BUT I WILL USUALLY USE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER TO REMOVE THE U-CLIP BEHIND THE WINDOW CRANK.IT'S VISIBLE IF YOU APPLY PRESSURE TO THE DOOR PANEL AND TURN YOUR HEAD SIDEWAYS TO LOOK BEHIND THE WINDOW CRANK.
