1993 mercury sable wagon 3.8 sterring jerks back to center while turning.is it rack or power sterring.drive great going straight.

Such problems are caused by the steering rack control valve.

A loose power steering pump belt can cause jerky movements as well. Check the belt tension first and tell tale signs are usually screeching noise when turning the steering.
