1993 Mazda MX6 power surges

As I drive the car there are power surges causing the lights to dim and go really bright. Eventually the high beam goes out first and then the low beams in both case both high beams go out at the same time and then both high beams.

This happens within two weeks of replacing bot headlamps

Have the alternator checked at a parts store. It sounds like the regulator is bad and allowing the alternator to produce too much power. That could cause the lights to burn out, and it can cause other electrical problems, even a fire.
