How to remove cooling fan?

Are you referring to the fan clutch? If so, remove the blades from the clutch. Then you need to hold the pulley while you loosen the clutch fan from the water pump. Check with the local parts store. Some of these require a special tool to hold the clutch while you loosen it from the water pump.
