I have a Grand Cherokee Laredo. The High/Low range lever started popping up while driving, now makes grinding noise when shifted into gear, park or neutral and does not move. Will drive in Low range without problem/noise. What is the problem? How Can it be fixed?

Check to make sure the fluid is full and clean in the transfer case. However, they have syncros in them that go bad allowing the transfercase to pop into neutral. If that is the case, it's cheaper to get one from a salvage yard.
