I have to replace my coil on my passanger side as the coil has broken near the bottom. Now when replacing the entire sturt and coil the complete unit, do I need to use a coil compression tool?

So I only need a compression tool if I were to replace the strut.

If you're buying one of the relatively new all-in-one preassembled strut and springs, you just bolt it on and head to the alignment shop. The advantage is that you don't need a spring compressor.
