You remove it and take it to the local auto parts store and exchange it for one that is already remanufactured. We don't take them apart any further than a valve or reservoir.

This is the exploded view of the pump.

You need the complete repair kit and care must be taken to ensure the vanes are installed corrrectly. Any wrong installation can result in loss of power assist and would damage the pump beyond repair.

Getting a reman unit would be the easier way out.

Just finding a rebuild kit would be difficult if not impossible.

Over here we do it ourselves but I do not know about the US.
