Hi my friend recently bought a 1993 Honda Civic Ex, it had a motor swap to a D15B. The problem he is having is sometimes it starts sometimes not. When it does start it will shut off within a few minutes. The only time it will start is when you take the key in and out to get the check engine light to go out, then it starts fine, the light comes back on and soon it cuts out. The car will not start with the check engine light on. It apears to have the wrong harness, one wire is not hooked up and the two coils on the fuel rail are not hooked up to anything. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Check engine light on

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on

Thanks that was my next move, yesterday I downloaded the codes and how to pull them up at home. Will try it this weekend and see what it says. The car is 120 miles away so It will have to wait a couple of days. What is the purpose of the two coil looking devices on the fuel rail?
