My truck will run perfectly with good smooth uninterrupted clean power for about 4 miles. Then blue smoke from the exhaust, power reduction, sputtering, until eventual shut down. If I release the fuel filter drain for a second (which makes a suction release sound) drain a little fuel, maybe a tablespoon. It runs perfectly for about 4 more miles. Process repeats. I have changed filter, cleaned fuel, and tanks, no luck...help

you are drawing air from somewhere. you need to test the lines from the pump or filter to the tanks.
I assume this is a diesel??
