what could cause 5.8 litre run rich . It is fuel injected

went to get it smogged the other day.It passed at high rpm but failed at idle.

I would first run a scan for any unresolved fault code, (not all codes set a check light) if that is ok, do a fuel rail pressure test for a leaking injector.
