how to I remove the yellow clip that holds the door hanle rod

replacing exterior door handles on my explorer myself yellow clip broke when detaching rod. want to take a few off some used explorers in a salvage yard i go to, but after i un-clip them i cant see how to get the actual whole clip off and out to replace in my car. Please help

Can you upload a picture of what you are working with. I believe it just turns and clips to the rod.
