i have ford escort that i paid 500 for it.the car done good for a year.the car now needs a motor.should i fix it or junk it?

Well, with out knowing the rest of the car its a bit hard to say, basically if you invest the money required to do the engine do you want to be driving this car for the next 4-5 years? you will have to do this to make it worth while spending the money.
