We own a 1993 dodge dynasty. The factory installed alarm was going off. We had to dissconnect the battery to shut it off. After reconnecting the battery the car will start and then shuts down right away. I believe the alarm needs to be reset using the car key. Can you tell me how to reset the alarm?

Close the hood and all doors. Roll down the drivers window. Turn the key on. Turn key off and remove it. Open the drivers door and lock the doors using the power door lock switch. Close the door and wait 30 seconds for the system to arm. The security alarm light on the dash should be flashing. When the light stops flashing the system is armed. Now unlock the driver's door using the key to disarm the system. If the system does not disarm and allow the engine to start, repeat the process but this time unlock the passenger door with the key.

Lock all doors using the power lock switch. Close all doors and hood. Unlock either the driver's door or the front passenger's door using the key. Enter the vehicle and attempt to start the engine normally. If it starts and runs, the theft security system has been successfully disarmed, and no further repair is needed

Thank you. I tried that but it didn't work. The drivers side window is broken meaning it does not go down. Should it still work or is there an other option?

Yes it hould still work, the window doesnt matter, that was just so you could stick your arm in there to turn the key. Try this, unhook battery for a minute then reconnect battery, shut hood and retry the second relearn procedure (follow exactly) I posted this time try unlocking the passenger door with key. Just dont try it once if it doesnt work try a few times. Let me know

All you have to do is unlock either front door with the key. I have a '93 Dynasty I bought new and only drive it a few miles per year. It has just over 4,000 miles on it. Because it sits so long I unplug the large bullet connector behind the battery so the computer memory circuits don't run the battery down. When I reconnect it just the parking lights will be flashing, (no horn). The hood can even be open. If the alarm doesn't turn off with the key in the door, either the switch in the door is disconnected or there is a broken wire between the left front door hinges in the rubber boot. The same procedure should work from the passenger door.
