When driving headlights will turn off. They flash some then go off completely. All other lights work. (Park lights, blinkers brake lights). I have changed the headlight switch before and it didn't seem to help. It's like something is getting hot, a short or something. They will come back on after awhile but never know when they will go out again. I was told by friends it's probably the dimmer switch. Would like to fix. Truck seems to still have good motor and transmission. I bought it new in December 92.

What's the question? Do you need help with diagnosing this? The dimmer switch is a good suspect, but you also have to check for burned / overheated connector terminals at both switches. If the old head light switch had overheated terminals, those have to be replaced, otherwise they will generate heat and cause the new switch to fail too.
