One day a turned into a parking lot, the truck, bounced like going over bumps, and then transmission stopped working. If I shift it from D to 2 and rev the engine sometimes I can get the truck to slowly move forward for a few feet. No reverse, basically no forward movement. Before this the truck transmission shift perfect. Once in a great while it had play with shift level to get D to engage. Any ideas? Does the transmission have any solenoids that could cause a near complete shutdown? Torque converter failure? I had a torque converter fail on another vehicle but is slipped, and made noises, and acted up. Not sure how it would fail so suddenly. This truck is a D150.

Good afternoon.

If it does not go into any gear check the following:

1. Fluid level.
2. Transmission filter may be clogged.
3. Torque converter failure.
4. Front pump failure.

No, there is no solenoid to make the transmission engage.

Fluid level looks good. Color looks good too, maybe a little bit dirty. Does not smell burnt. I will change the filter and fluid. Any way to tell with the pan open if the front pump is bad/good?

Check for any debris or metal in the pan on the magnet at the bottom of the pan.
