I know nothing about cars i just want to know how to get this thing to stop breaking down.

My 1993 chrysler lebaron's check gauges and check engine light kept coming on and the battery gauge would go low then high and keep alternating. The serpentine belt comes off a lot and it didn't start after getting gas the battery gauge was really low.
