do you have to take the trans. out to replace the slave cylinder on a 5 speed standard

When servicing the clutch actuator with hydraulic line intact, disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal in order to prevent damage to the actuator should the pedal be depressed.

Raise and support vehicle, then remove actuator cylinder to clutch housing nuts and actuator assembly.

Use hydraulic clutch line separator tool No. J-36221 or equivalent to disconnect actuator cylinder hydraulic line coupling, then remove line from clips if necessary.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following.
