automatic transmission but will only shift manually?

I have a 93 suburban 1500 4x4 with automatic transmission but will only shift manually the speedometer seems to work normal do you have any idea on what could cause this? had a small leak in transmission cooler lines we fixed but wont shift up or down in drive r overdrive..

Has the check engine light come on? Was it shifting properly before the leak?

yes the check engine light is on yes it all worked fine befor the leak
