Whenever my car gets rained upon there is always a puddle on my floor. Takes forever to get all the moisture out because my carpet is soaked. Not sure where its coming in from or why?

IMMA JEEP CJ KINDA GUY, ON OCCASION I MESS AROUND WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS CARS.I DON'T KNOW A LOT ABOUT YOUR CAR

ON SOME VEHICLES (YOURS?) LEAVES AND DEBRIS BUILD UP AROUND THE FIREWALL AREA---MAYBE EVEN DOWN IN CRACKS AND CREVASSES WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE THEM.

INVESTIGATE WITH A GOOD FLASHLIGHT, A HAND MIRROR OR INSPECTION MIRROR

EVEN RUNNING WATER INTO IT MAY NOT BACK UP TO THE TOP, AS IT MAY BE "BARELY" DRAINING OUT OR ALSO GOING INTO THE C. OCKPIT

THE LEAVES AND CRAP CLOSE OFF DRAIN HOLES--THE WATER STARTS BACKING UP IN THE VOID

SINCE WATER "NEVER WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THAT"---THE VEHICLE'S MANUFACTURER DID NOT "WATERPROOF" THE AREA--THEY SORTA "SHINGLE" PLASTIC PARTS SO WATER WILL "SHED OFF" AND DRAIN, BUT STILL KEEP AIR FROM GETTING IN THRU THE FIREWALL.

IF THE WATER BACKS UP, ---UNDER AND BETWEEN THE SHINGLES IT GOES!

A SHOP VAC MAY GET THE BIGGEST PORTIONS OF THE DEBRIS OUT---MAYBE INSERTING A 1/2 INCH OR SO HEATER HOSE INTO YOUR SHOP-VAC'S HOSE AND SEALING IT WITH DUCT TAPE MIGHT ALLOW YOU TO VACUUM DEEPER INTO THE VOID.

AFTER THAT, MAYBE USING A PIECE OF WIRE, AND SORTA "JEWGING" INTO THE DRAIN HOLE WHILE RUNNING WATER INTO IT, UNTIL IT IS CLEAN.

KEEP US INFORMED

THE MEDIC

Hello, I fixed this one on moms car(91 Corsica). Areas on the upper firewall have seam sealer that gets dried out and cracked. There are quite a few seams but the ones leaking on this car were by the hood hinge area. Check these areas and clean them out and re-seal. I used a sealer called Vulkem. Its available at home improvement stores. I use it in these app's cause it sticks to about anything and lasts. It can also be painted after it cures if you like. No drain holes up around this area to worry about clogging up. But probably should have been!
