I adjusted the idle to 10 rpm, changed the air filter, sprayed wd40 on the idle to keep the gas pedal from sticking, the car stalls on overdrive at 60 mph, at 60mph the rpm constantly moves in between 20 to 30 rpm then stalls, checked the vacuum line in the engine, used a leather shoe on the exhaust pipe and the suction is ok,

check vacuum at idle form intake, if it's around 15' CHECK FOR A BAD CONVERTER. also have your torque converter clutch checked by a trans guy, it may be not working correctly. then check your fuel presuure, 41-47 psi is what it should be if port fuel and 9-11 if tbi

Did you say, "TURNED/ MOVED THE IDLE"????

If you monkeyed with the idle speed screw or any other mechanical adjustment, you may have COMPOUNDED your problem!

The computer is set to know where "Base Idle" is....This sort of calibrates everything to knowing where the engine's idle is (this is not the idle that you think of, when sitting still, its a Starting point for the computer) There are certain procedures to set Base Idle, so unless you can set it back exactly where it was...things may not go well. It might involve a machine to calibrate it back!

HAVE YOU CHECKED FOR ENGINE CODES?

MOST POPULAR AUTO PARTS STORES WILL DO IT FOR FREE---BRING BACK THE EXACT CODE NUMBERS, NOT SOMEONES INTERPRETATION AS TO WHAT THEY MEAN

SOMEONE HERE WILL ASSIST YOU
