What does Trans Power mean on a 1993 BMW 525i series?

just got my car today from the shop to fix a leak on the "octopus" hose. Now the engine is running at a lower RPM and the trans power word comes on the dash. The car does not take off like it used to, instead its like the clutch of a manual transmition is still engaged.
