Shuts off and insturment cluster flickers

My car starts up then dies onless i press the gas, sometimes it stays on but idles up and down, the instirment cluster goes on and off and sometimes stays off and the car acts like it hits the governor at 2500 give or take rpms. Whats the deal? Oh and the little computer thing with tje temp, and light out warning is just a bunch of random pixles and the car smells funny like sour or sulfur

It only soinds like it hits tje governor when tje cluster stays off

Scan for fault codes, check battery connections are clean and tight, check earths, the sulfur smell is due to an emission problem, or could be bad fuel, do a full tune up first.
