I overheated and my auxiliary fan stopped working. I changed the thermostat and still overheat. I have a squeak like a fan belt but can't see any problems with it. How do I check the waterpump.

I would first remove the radiator and get it core flushed, as sediment can be stirred up after an over head and part block the radiator core tubes, a back flush may not do a good job if the cores are blocked.
