Speedometer has stopped working

The speedometer of a 1992 Toyota Hilux Pickup,2Y YN 85,has stopped working. It's a drive cable.How do I go about it?

Disconnect the cable from the transmission end and tug at the inner cable. If only part of the inner cable comes out, it is broken and the cable assy has to be replaced. Note the routing before removing the cable so that you can reinstall it correctly.
