I need help fixing my a/c in a 1992 Toyota Celica. The problem started after my radiator started to boil over. I replaced the radiator but the a/c systems pressure is off the scale and shuts off automatically when I try to turn it on. Does the compressor need to be replaced? Is there something easier I could start with?

Could be low/no freon in it-When you turn AC on do you hear the clutch engaged the compressor

I just put a whole can of freon in it and yes the compressor engages and then shuts off in about 3 seconds.

What are the high and low pressure readings?
Are the cooling fans working?

The pressure is so high it is off the scale. The fans are working and the car engine temp is normal. So I assume that the water pump and the thermostat are working correctly.
