transmission not working

This car was out of fluid when I got it, wouldn't move. Put fluid in, goes forward, but wont go backwards. Can you help?

If there was no fluid in the transmission then you probably burned up some clutches.Any codes?I would check for codes and then check the transmission fluid pressure.
