the battery light was on when i started the car it sounds fine the belt seems to be fine i tried resetting it by unhitching the terminal now my fiance recently found a burnt out dashboard dimmer switch was burnt out so we have a tempoarary fix so i can see the dash could that have something to do with this problem

normally that is controlled by headlight switch so the burnt out switch may be the problem. also have your battery and charging system checked.
