What would cause the hose to blow off of the egr valve. When I rev the engine or put it under a load the larger hose on the bent metal elbow of the egr valve blows off.

A wrong hose application or exhaust back pressure.

sounds like you have a blocked cat converter. have it checked to verify

I checked the cat converter and it was indeed blocked. I fixed that and it solved the the hose blowing off problem. Thank you so much!!
