Car wont start after I changed the battery steering column was replaced, but original key is in an ignition under the steering column panel.

Is there a security system on that? Are you saying it cranks good but won't start? Any applicable mil codes? If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs, if you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure.
