can i put a straight pipe on this car

Yes you can put a straight pipe but you'll be polluting the air and EPA don't like that

It is a violation of federal law to remove the catalytic converter. I wouldn't recommend it.

Not a problem. You need to have the catalytic converter not only by law, but the vehicle is designed to have a converter. If you remove it, the O2 sensors will not read correctly and cause new problems for you. If you have other questions, let us know.
