My windows stopped working?

My windows stopped working. I can hear something running when I push the buttons but windows stay up. every once in a while one of the rear windows would start to roll down.But now nothing. But I can still hear something running, Where do I start to trouble shoot?

pull door panel off and look for a broken cable/regulator

Yep, the window regulators go out all the time in these cars, here is how to change them out, the noise you hear is the window motor running inside the door.
