1992 mercedes 190e will not start, ran fine until drive belt broke, then when I replaced drive belt, it would not crank

If you're talking about the timing belt-the valve and ignition timing could be off-a click-Did you put engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC?

The car has mechanical timing with a timing chain. It is a 1992 190 e 2.6 6 cylinder
